Arthroscopy in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Revolutionary Joint Treatment
When you have chronic joint pain or your joints are injured in a sport’s game, the road to recovery can be long and frustrating. At Orthopaedic & Sports Specialists PC, we understand the importance of independence and mobility. That’s why we use innovative tools, like arthroscopy, to diagnose and treat your hips, knees and shoulders. With our advanced equipment and specialized training, we can help you get back to work and sports as soon as possible.
What is Arthroscopy?
Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical technique that allows us to see inside your joints and provide more accurate diagnoses and treatment options. It is an outpatient surgery, and we use nerve blocks to facilitate a quicker recovery.
During an arthroscopy, Dr. Kowlaski will make a small incision and insert a small camera and lighting system to better examine your joint. The camera magnifies the joint structures, allowing us to accurately diagnose the problem and make any necessary repairs without the pain and extended recovery associated with open surgery.
Common Conditions We Repair
Through an arthroscopy, we can easily identify if a joint needs to be replaced or repaired. It allows us to identify rotator cuff tendon tears and chronic relocations in your shoulder, meniscal tears in your knees, and loose cartilage and other problems in your hip joints. With arthroscopy, we can effectively treat various joint problems and prepare for joint replacements if necessary.
