Joint Replacement Surgery
If you are experiencing chronic joint pain or you have suffered an injury to your knee, shoulder or hip, you may need a joint replacement to eliminate your pain and return to an active lifestyle. At Orthopaedic & Sports Specialists PC, we use specialized equipment and innovative technology to provide reliable knee, hip and shoulder replacements. With our tools and years of expertise, you can trust your replacement to provide you with the increased mobility you need for years to come.
The Mako Robot
For our complete and partial hip and knee replacements, we use the Mako robotic arm from Stryker. With the Mako robotic arm, Dr. Kowalski will create a 3-D model of your replacement, allowing him to preplan your surgery. The Mako robotic arm also assists your surgeon during surgery, allowing them to optimize the placement of your new joint and prolong the life of your implant.
This revolutionary technology also helps promote equal leg lengths after a hip replacement and allows for a speedier recovery. With partial and total knee replacements, the Mako technology facilitates proper alignment of your knee joint while preserving the ligaments around your knee.
Proper rehabilitation is a key part of joint-replacement surgery. When you come to our office for your surgery, we’ll provide expert guidance to help you recover as quickly as possible. Our rehabilitation service is designed to meet your unique needs and promote healthy living and wellness.
After your surgery, we will work with you to strengthen the bone around the replaced joint and strengthen your muscles. We’ll help manage your pain throughout the recovery process and improve your mobility, range of motion and dexterity so you can truly enjoy life.
